How to drive endless traffic to your church blog or website.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Lets face we have all done it, got all excited about our church website or even blog. Most churches and Christian organizations spend endless amounts of time getting the website or blog looking right and spend very little time marketing that website.

How do you go about driving traffic to that website? In business, if you have a shop on a backstreet then there is no point opening if people do not know how to find you. This is similar with church, the website is all about reaching out and letting the community you are serving know you are there for them. If you cannot drive traffic to your website then your time and money in setting it up has been wasted. Harsh I know but true!

I have had many conversations with church leaders that always think marketing has to cost lots of money, and frankly that perception is wrong. In today’s age, you can market online for very little.

Here are five ways to market your church online

1. Wordpress website / blog –
2. Youtube Channel
3. Facebook / Myspace
4. Podcasts of sermons
5. Press Release

These will drive endless amounts of traffic to your church website every week. You can do all these for very little or no cost at all and you point them all back to your website / church blog to raise awareness. In today’s age the internet is so powerful and it is about time we started to get wise and start to use it to build the Kingdom of God.

Make sure you sign up to the newsletter and updates in the top right hand corner as I will be doing video tutorials on all these soon.

Steve

    This is a good article.

Encouraging churches to utilize the technology is what I spend my days doing, so this gives a good reference point for the beginner.

Getting past the fear of starting and knowing where to start is so important in developing effective internet ministry.

    Bless you for your work

    Hi Steve

Thanks for these ideas. It will certainly be good to see churches using Facebook etc in this way, as well as blogs. There’s a good ebook called Facebook for Pastors which we have linked to at our social networking page InternetEvangelismDay.com/social-networking

    Blessings

    Tony

Social networking is one of the best ways to create a buzz about your church blog.
