Church blogging techniques - Planning the content for your church blog

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Once you have done the research and have an idea of what people are searching for, the next step I would do is break down these searches into categories.

For me, the easiest way for me to do this was to write a paper site map down and do one in powerpoint.  I would then think of the first few articles I would write in each category and write a headline from the readers perspective.

You have just done a site map.

Putting the site together.

There are a few things you need in place first.

  1. Hosting
  2. Domain name
  3. Install the super blogging software – wordpress

Over th next few days I will be posting content on how to put these in place and a few tricks and tips I have picked up along the way.

    Hi Steve

THere is certainly great potential for church blogging. And if it is written on subjects of interest to non-Christians (eg local issues), a blog can draw people in, both to the blog and then the church website. We’ve written about this at our blogging page and also at our church website design self-assesssment tool.

    Blessings

    Tony
