I recently put a website together for a church in Bury, UK.
Through the development and consultation we discussed the importance of having a contact us option throughout the website so wherever you land you can be contacted.
Although they weren’t totally for this, they took my advice on board and went with the advice. The site has only been live a week and we haven’t started any web promotion.
A gentleman left a comment asking how he could get to the church. Is this not the whole reason why we have a church website anyway? Is it to connect with the community?
I see so many church websites that are sometimes missing the boat with their websites and what we need to do is to realise that our websites exist for the community.
Here are some questions to ask ourselves
- Does the design look like we want it to?
- Can the reader connect with our mission statement?
- When a reader comes to your site, do they know they are in the right place? (Is your marketing written for you or your reader?)
This is an extrememly hard thing to do, but we need to constantly put ourselves in the shoes of the readers.

Users can upload videos and pictures, publish blogs, add friends and develop their own sub-networks for their families, churches, ministries or projects. They can also raise awareness of their ministry using cross.tv’s unique “cross pollination” functionalities which allows them to publish content in multiple languages.

I have always been looking for a Christian web hosting company. Although I haven’t found a Christian Web Host as such I definitely recommend Bluehost.
Ignite Your Ministry have recently partnered with them after Bluehost improving their hosting portfolio.
Bluehost have recently made some excellent additions to their hosting plans and from literally $6.95 a month you can have unlimited domains and unlimited bandwith and disk space.
This is awesome.
